The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, 1-й полнометражной картины Уолта Диснея, объединившей в себе детскую сказку, фантастический рассказ и мюзикл, студия «MGM» решила попытаться завоевать ту же публику своими средствами. The Shop Around the Corner), The Patchwork Girl of Oz; The Magic Cloak of Oz; His Majesty the Scarecrow of Oz. В 1925 г. Doug McClelland, Down the Yellow Brick Road: The Making of The Wizard of Oz, New York, Pyramid Books, 1976; Aljian Harmetz, The Making of The Wizard of Oz, New York, Alfred A. Knopf, 1977, переиздание ― Limelight Editions, 1984. (Hugh Fordin, The World of Entertainment). John Fricke, Jay Scarfone, William Stillman, The Wizard of Oz, the Official 50th Anniversary Pictorial History – рассказывает во всех подробностях историю съемок (особо интересная глава «Эра Торпа» посвящена работе Ричарда Торпа) и описывает то, что американцы называют «мерчандайзингом» фильма, ставшего для них легендой и незыблемым столпом.Авторская энциклопедия фильмов Жака Лурселля > The Wizard of Oz
